Why You Shouldn’t Let AI Write Your Training Plan

AI tools can do a lot these days, from counting your steps to suggesting meal ideas. But when it comes to creating your training plan, relying on AI alone might not be the best move.

AI Doesn’t Know You

AI can analyse patterns and general data, but it doesn’t understand your unique body, mindset, or lifestyle. It can’t see how you move, how much sleep you got last night, or how your mood affects your performance. A coach looks at the full picture — your goals, recovery, stress levels, and progress & importantly can adjust things in real time.

Generic Plans Miss the Mark

AI training plans often look great on paper but they do lack individualisation. They’re based on averages, not your personal history. That’s how people get stuck, plateau, or end up injured. A good coach builds a plan that grows with you, not against you.

No Accountability or Human Connection

AI can remind you to train, but it can’t hold you accountable or motivate you when life gets busy. Real progress often comes from human connection, the feeling of having someone in your corner who knows when to push and when to pull back.

Data Without Context Isn’t Progress

AI might track your reps, weight, and steps, but progress isn’t just numbers. A personal trainer recognises non-physical wins — better energy, improved sleep, or renewed confidence things that AI doesn’t register.

The Best Results Come from Collaboration

At THP, I use data, structure, and experience to build my coaching plans. Your plan isn’t written by a machine. It’s built by a coach who listens, adapts, and helps you stay consistent.
