Making Time to Train — Even When Life Feels Full
If you’ve ever thought, “I just don’t have time,” you’re not alone. Between work, family, and everything else, fitting in exercise can feel impossible. Even as a personal trainer and someone who genuinely enjoys being in the gym, I struggle too. Life gets busy, motivation dips, and sometimes even the best intentions fall away.
That’s why I design realistic training plans that work around your week, not against it. Your workouts should fit your life, not take it over. Whether you’re juggling long shifts, managing family life, or working from home, the right plan can still help you make progress. My focus is on time-efficient workouts that deliver results without stealing your time or energy.
And it’s not just opinion, there is research that backs it up. A one-year study of new gym members found that people who enjoyed their workouts and believed they could stick with them were almost twice as likely to keep training two or more times per week compared with those who didn’t. The same study also found that social support, having people who encourage you played a key role in staying consistent (Gjestvang et al., 2021).
That’s exactly what I build into every plan:
Enjoyment: training that feels rewarding, not a punishment.
Self-belief: achievable goals that encourage you to think “I can do this.”
Accountability and support: because consistency grows faster when you’re not doing it alone.
You don’t need to train every day. Two or three structured, purposeful workouts a week can make a real difference when done with the right technique, recovery, and support. The key is showing up and staying consistent and that’s far easier when your workouts fit into your real life.
The goal isn’t perfection, it’s progress. By focusing on small, consistent steps, I can support you to build the confidence and rhythm that keep you moving forward.
When training becomes something you enjoy and believe you can stick to, it stops being a chore and starts becoming part of who you are.
